Searching for a publisher

The next step to writing and publishing my book was to find a publisher that I trusted. There was a lot to consider but most of all, I didn't want to give my money to someone who would take it and run. I also wanted a company who would help me and answer my questions, person to person. Last but not least, I didn't want to pay an arm and a leg but I didn't want to go so cheap that I ended up with a worthless product. After looking for 3 or 4 months, I had nearly given up. Against all hope, I put a search in on the internet, again, for a christian book publisher. Glory to God, up popped Wheatmark. Their web site is featured here on this blog.

Check us out with them at www.reliabilitymall.com. We love this company but our grandchildren are in Michigan, Louisiana, and Idaho and we want to spend time with them before they are all grown up.

Book and the seed of creation

Well, I'm not going to tell our whole story all over again as that would rewrite an already written book. That said, our pastor gave a sermon one Sunday about reviving old dreams. It touched me. He posed the idea that perhaps God had been tapping us on the shoulder for years about some purpose that He had in mind for us. If that were the case, maybe we should consider pursuing that nearly forgotten dream. Of course the sermon was longer than this post but it really got me thinking, it struck a chord. Through the years, the idea that I was a good story teller came up many, many times. Not necessarily a good author/writer. Sometimes, to tell a story it serves a purpose to write it down. I actually think that I'm a better speaker. God kept waking me up to write. Finally, my husband started to encourage me to write a book about our marriage. That was key as it would be from my perspective and thus he wouldn't look so good. I mentioned that fact to him and his observation was that he wouldn't look so good because he was not very nice at the time. In other words, my view was pretty accurate. He was on board with the project. He's never backed off on that position. He says that we have a unique opportunity to help people in a variety of areas. Bless him. To be continued.
