Sick Husband

Hey all. I have not been posting because my husband, Richard, had back surgery. He's not home yet but perhaps ...today. I hope so. His doctor was great but the hospital staff left much to be desired. Not a good experience for him or for me. He's diabetic and they told him not to bring his insulin, etc. or any of his meds as they would provide all. The first day they refused him insulin as they claimed it was not on his chart...lie!! His diet was white bread, mashed potatoes, pasta, cake, canned fruit, fruit juice...well...a bunch of things that are not appropriate for a diabetic. This morning his sugar was at 317. Not good. One of the nurses told me that I should never leave a loved one alone in the hospital, that I could not trust the nurses to properly take care of 'whoever'. That's messed up. What do you all think?
